Acknowledgements

Pause and Effect is based on Coast Salish territories of the (Squamish), (Tsleil-Waututh) and (Musqueam) Nations.

We respectfully reflect on the privilege and complexities that come with working and living on stolen land, and our responsibility to this land and the Indigenous community as uninvited guests.

We are grateful for Indigenous teachings and knowledge which have enriched our work and our perspectives and remind us of our commitment towards decolonization and Indigenous sovereignty.

The work and perspectives of many Black, Indigenous,Disabled and Queer activists, writers, artists, and scientists have influenced and shaped our thinking and what you will see if this workbook. We want to especially reference the work of adrienne maree brown, Octavia Butler, Robin Wall-Kimmerrer, Alok Vaid-Menon, Leah Thomas, and our incredible partners at the Indigenous Friends Association.
